Kelsey and Peter’s Lakeside Mountain Soiree

Kelsey and Peter got married on the sort of wedding day you keep your fingers crossed for – a fall day cool enough to tease the oncoming season and warm enough for those delicate spaghetti straps. There’s a certain magic about Lake Eden in its own right – a warmth and a sense of whimsy, with mountain and water views in every direction. When I opened the barn to begin the setup – I kid you not – a group of woodland animals scattered from beneath the stairs like something out of Sleeping Beauty.

The rustic elegant design theme for the big day was informed by the space itself, with gentle nods to the rolling mountains and glassy waterfront. The ceremony itself was built on the idea of framing and honoring the backdrop. But Elaine at Urban Farm Girl flowers didn’t bypass the opportunity to go big on the arbor flowers.

Bouquets for Kelsey and the ladies were loose and organic, and paired perfectly with their dusty lavender dresses.
The reception was a wonder to behold with all sorts of Midsummer Night’s Dream vibes. The room was absolutely brimming with twinkling lights, lush greenery and local fall blooms. Natural elements, like mosses and magnolia leaf place cards, were woven into seating arrangements, complemented by a soft wood charger and pale grey salad plates. We used three different kinds of rustic wood chairs to bring dimension to tables. And desserts were displayed on a vintage grand piano.
A gorgeous event for the sweetest couple. We were so honored to be a part of bringing this vision to life!
